Bradley Adams coming back to Georgetown High School football program
Bradley Adams is returning to take over the Georgetown High School football program.
The Georgetown County school board approved Adams’ hire at Tuesday’s meeting. Adams also will be the school’s athletic director.
Adams replaces Jimmy Noonan, who resigned in November after three seasons. Georgetown went 0-9 this year and haven’t won a game since the 2020 season.
Adams has been the head coach at Woodruff High in the Upstate but announced he was leaving the school for another opportunity earlier this month. He went 33-22 in five seasons at Woodruff.
“We are extremely excited to return to Georgetown. This is an opportunity that we have been waiting on for the last couple of years,” Adams said in a district release. “Georgetown is home. Our vision is to bring pride back into the football program at GHS. We look forward to building long-standing relationships with the students, the community, and the faculty and staff. We want our students to uphold a high sense of moral values and character and be leaders in the school and community.”
This will be Adams’ second stint at Georgetown. He was the Bulldogs coach for six years and was the school’s all-time winningest coach with 40 victories before leaving for Union County in 2016.
Adams has a career record of 83-62 in 13 seasons as head coach.
Adams was introduced at a press conference on Wednesday. His first day of work is set for Thursday. He will assume athletic director duties in July. Ken Cribb and David Hammel will serve as the school’s co-athletic directors until then.
