Helmet stickers: Georgetown lineman rumbles, NMB celebrates perfection

Team of the week

North Myrtle Beach: The Chiefs clinched their first 10-0 regular season and an outright Region 7-4A crown last Friday night, downing St. James 41-7.

While none of the team’s individual numbers stand out, North Myrtle Beach dominated every facet of play.

Running back Kered Class rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown, while quarterback Cason McClendon was 10 of 23 for 146 yards and two scores. On the other side of the ball, the Chiefs limited St. James to 207 total yards.

Player of the week

Cairo Brown, Georgetown: The defensive lineman was voted player of the week after he scooped a fumble and rumbled 95 yards for a touchdown in the Bulldogs’ 48-0 rout of Waccamaw. He also had two tackles in the game.

Derek Alston, Carolina Forest: Caught seven passes for 87 yards and a touchdown in the Panthers’ 42-14 loss to Conway.

Chris Anderson, St James: Caught two passes for 106 yards and added 31 rushing yards for the Sharks in their 41-7 loss to North Myrtle Beach.

Deakidd Anderson, Georgetown: Caught two passes for 40 yards — both touchdowns — in the Bulldogs’ 48-0 win over Waccamaw.

Michael Brown, Myrtle Beach: Was in on 10 tackles for the Seahawks’ 54-26 win over Wilson.

Lawson Cribb, Myrtle Beach: Completed 30 of his 43 passes for 393 yards and three touchdowns in the Seahawks’ 54-26 win over Wilson.

Daron Finkley, Myrtle Beach: Caught nine passes for 109 yards and a touchdown in the Seahawks’ 54-26 win over Wilson.

Noah Freshley, Conway: Credited with eight tackles and an interception in the Tigers’ 42-14 win over Carolina Forest.

Dijon Goss, Carvers Bay: Had 10 tackles and an interception for the Bears in their 46-6 win over Latta.

Jermani Green, Myrtle Beach: Racked up 201 yards of total offense and four touchdowns, along with causing a fumble and fumble recovery in the Seahawks’ 54-26 win over Wilson.

Zach Jordan, Loris: Was in on 10 tackles and a sack in the Lions’ 49-27 win over Aynor.

Toronto King, Carvers Bay: Rushed for 162 yards on 13 carries and two touchdowns, in addition to a kickoff return for a score in the Bears’ 46-6 win over Latta.

R.J. Knowlin, Andrews: Rushed for 198 yards and four touchdowns, in addition to seven tackles, a sack and an interception in the Yellow Jackets’ 38-21 win over Kingstree.

Shawn Mallo, Carolina Forest: Caught three passes for 86 yards and a touchdown in the Panthers’ 42-14 loss to Conway.

Jaylen Moody, Conway: Had seven tackles and an interception for the Tigers in their 42-14 win over Carolina Forest.

Dashaun Myers, Socastee: Rushed for 144 yards and a touchdown in the Braves’ 48-21 loss to Sumter.

Jaquan Reed, Carvers Bay: Had 12 tackles and three sacks in the Bears’ 46-6 win over Latta.

Tyrik Reed, Carvers Bay: Rushed for 77 yards and caught a pass for 12 more, scoring twice in the Bears’ 46-6 win over Latta.

Noah Seaver, Aynor: Rushed for 160 yards on 31 carries in the Blue Jackets’ 49-27 loss to Loris.

Salim Sessions, Myrtle Beach: Was in on 11 tackles, in addition to a sack and an interception in the Seahawks’ 54-26 win over Wilson.

Alex Smith, Georgetown: Caught four passes for 69 yards and a touchdown in the Bulldogs; 48-0 win over Waccamaw.

Devin Stamp, Socastee: Caught four passes for 100 yards and a touchdown in the Braves’ 48-21 loss to Sumter.

Devon Torres, Loris: Was in on 16 tackles in the Lions’ 49-27 win over Aynor.

Edward Tucker, Socastee: Led the Braves with nine tackles and an interception in their 48-21 loss to Sumter.

James Walters, Loris: Was in on 12 tackles and a sack for the Lions in their 49-27 win over Aynor.

Andrew Wilson, Loris: Posted 11 tackles — three coming for a loss — along with a 1-yard touchdown plunge for the Lions in a 49-27 victory over Aynor.

Stephon Wilson, North Myrtle Beach: Was in on 15 tackles and recovered a fumble for the Chiefs in their 41-7 win over St. James.

Honors and accolades

▪ North Myrtle Beach running back Kered Class became the first player in program history to rush for 3,000 yards in his career. Currently, he has 3,020 yards – 1,090 of which have come this season.

▪ Loris football coach Jamie Snider earned his 50th career victory last Friday night, leading the Lions to a 49-27 win over Aynor.

▪ Carolina Forest quarterback Matt Beale surpassed the 5,000-yard mark for total offense last Friday night. He has passed for 4,140 yards, while rushing for 1,339 more. He also has 50 touchdowns for his career – 30 passing and 20 rushing.

▪ Matt Reel is off to the best start for a coach in North Myrtle Beach history, winning each of his first 10 games.
