Already highly regarded by most, the work of three of the area’s top seniors on the gridiron was validated on Sunday.

Conway offensive linemen Gunner Britton and Raiqwon O’Neal, along with North Myrtle Beach all-purpose man Tyler Gore were selected for the 81st Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas.

Held at Gibbs Stadium in Spartanburg, the game will take place Dec. 16 at 2 p.m.

Thrown into the fray early in their respective careers, Britton and O’Neal anchor a strong Conway offensive line. Through seven games, the Tigers are averaging better than 300 yards of offense, while the unit has ceded a total of 15 sacks.

Sought after by more than 30 schools, O’Neal verbally committed to Rutgers over the summer. As for Britton, he is headed to Western Kentucky after his high school days are through.

Gore is a four-year standout at North Myrtle Beach. After making 35 tackles and three interceptions along with 29 catches for 455 yards and nine touchdowns as a junior, he is following it up with a stronger senior campaign.

In six games, he has six touchdowns — four receiving, one rushing and another on a kickoff return. He also has 29 tackles, four interceptions and two forced fumbles and recoveries.

Gore has committed to Georgia State.
