Game balls: Vote for Week 8’s top high school football performances
A look at the top performances Friday from high school football players in Horry and Georgetown counties:
Lawson Cribb, Myrtle Beach: Completed 14 of his 22 passes for 224 yards and three touchdowns as the Seahawks shellacked St. James, 73-0.
Tyree Funnye, Waccamaw: Caught seven passes for 225 yards and three touchdowns in the Warriors’ 57-33 loss to Aynor.
D’Wuan Grainger, Conway: Accounted for 277 total yards and four touchdowns as the Tigers took care of rival Socastee, 50-28.
Jermani Green, Myrtle Beach: Rushed for 144 yards and two touchdowns as Myrtle Beach cruised to a 73-0 win over St. James.
Hunter Illing, Socastee: Despite constant harassment by the Conway defense, he completed 16 of 30 passes for 347 yards and two touchdowns, along with another score on the ground in a 50-28 loss on Friday night.
Jahrique Isaiah, Loris: Caught two passes for 115 yards and a touchdown in the Lions’ 39-20 loss to Dillon.
Toronto King, Carvers Bay: Rushed for 107 yards and three touchdowns in the Bears’ 52-12 win over Mullins.
Juwan Moody, Conway: Caught four passes for 146 yards and two touchdowns for the Tigers in their 50-28 win over Socastee.
Tyrek Reed, Carvers Bay: Accounted for 187 total yards and four touchdowns as the Bears routed Mullins, 52-12.
Noah Seaver, Aynor: Rushed for 335 yards and seven touchdowns as the Blue Jackets took care of Waccamaw, 57-33.
Of note: Voting is open till noon on Wednesday for player of the week at myrtlebeachonline.com. The winner will be revealed Wednesday online and in Thursday’s edition of The Sun News.
