Some of that had to do with a stifling defense that forced three turnovers — two which were returned for touchdowns — and two safeties. … Lake City needed a late flurry to down Loris last week.

Series record: Series tied, 13-13

Of note: A must-win for both teams, each hoping to land one of the four playoff sports offered to Region 6-3A. Last two meetings have been decided by a total of three points, including Aynor’s 30-29 win a year ago. … Noah Seaver is leading the Blue Jackets with 573 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. … Tyree Funnye is Waccamaw’s best weapon on offense, catching 21 passes for 379 yards and three touchdowns.

Of note: Despite missing a few games at the start of the season, Myrtle Beach quarterback Lawson Cribb has thrown for 1,210 yards and seven touchdowns. … Myrtle Beach has committed 25 turnovers this season, causing coach Mickey Wilson to sound the alarm earlier this week at practice. … Deondray Stanfield is St. James’ top ground gainer, going for 483 yards and seven touchdowns.

Of note: Creek Bridge’s last win was nearly three years ago, a 30-0 win over Green Sea Floyds. Miracles happen, just don’t expect them on this night.

Johnsonville (3-4, 1-2 Region 7-2A) at Andrews (5-2, 2-1)

Time: 7:30 p.m., Friday

Of note: After winless Kingstree downed Johnsonville for its first win of the season, the Golden Flashes now take aim at Andrews, Class 2A’s No. 10 team. Good luck.

Loris (2-4, 0-1 Region 6-3A) at Dillon (6-0, 1-0)

Time: 7:30 p.m., Friday

Radio: WLSC-AM 1240

Of note: Dillon has not scored less than 24 points all season. It’ll be tough for Loris to be the first to hold the Wildcats under that mark.
