Aynor loses to perennial power Dillon, finishes season 5-5
Jody Jenerette can live with the way Aynor’s season finished.
Following a 49-6 loss to Dillon on Friday night, the Blue Jackets finished the season 5-5.
“Our region’s just insane. If you look at in the [top three teams] in the region. It wouldn’t surprise me if they all end up in the final four or right there in the Lower State championship. I can see at least Georgetown, Lake City or Dillon, two of those three playing for the Lower State with the kind of dominance they were,” Jenerette said. “For us to go 5-5 at Aynor, man, it’s not a great year but it’s a good year with the number of returners we had coming back. If you had told me at the beginning of the season that we’d have won five games, I would have been stunned and shocked. So I’m definitely happy about that aspect of the season.”
Noah Earnest scored on a 40-yard touchdown run for Aynor’s only points Friday.
“We just played a really good football team tonight. It’s tough,” Jenerette said.
