TEAM OF THE WEEK

Aynor: Despite its game not being for much more than pride, the Blue Jackets played with the heart of a champion, erasing an early deficit to claim a 30-29 win over Waccamaw.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Caleb Jenerette, Aynor: There isn’t much that the Blue Jackets’ all-purpose man didn’t do this past Friday night at Waccamaw, though if asked it is likely he would have at least made an attempt. The senior athlete rushed for 124 yards on 22 carries and two touchdowns, while catching four passes for 91 yards and two more scores in his team’s 30-29 win over Waccamaw. He also had an interception in the game.

TOP PERFORMERS

Zaire Barron, Georgetown: The Bulldogs defensive lineman had three solo tackles and assisted on another, in addition to notching three sacks in his team’s 27-20 overtime loss to Lake City.

Matt Beale, Carolina Forest: The Panthers quarterback completed 14 of 16 passes for 255 yards and two touchdowns in his team’s 41-38 loss to South Florence.

Tysheem Best, Conway: The Tigers defensive back had six solo tackles and assisted on another in his team’s 54-21win over Socastee.

Juwuan Brown, Conway: The Tigers defensive end had 11 solo tackles while assisting on four more, and three sacks in his team’s 54-21 win over Socastee.

Carvers Bay defensive line: The tandem of Byron Young, Daquan Carr, Manny Tatum and Dequarius Pressley all recorded sacks and consistently applied pressure on Mullins quarterback Riyan Gore in the Bears’ 34-24 win.

Lawson Cribb, Myrtle Beach: The junior quarterback completed 20 of 31 passes for 319 yards and three touchdowns in the Seahawks’ 55-3 win over St. James.

Peyton Derrick, Conway: Continuing his recent stretch of solid games, the Tigers quarterback completed 19 of 31 passes for 300 yards and six touchdowns, along with nine carries for 123 yards in Conway’s 54-21 win over Socastee.

Ishmael Garcia, Carolina Forest: Back from injury, the Panthers wide receiver had four receptions for 119 yards and a touchdown in his team’s 41-38 loss to South Florence.

Akil Gause, Green Sea Floyds: The Trojans running back had three carries for 56 yards and a touchdown, along with catching a touchdown in his team’s 44-14 win over Creek Bridge.

Mahammud Graham, Green Sea Floyds: The Trojans running back had 102 yards on 17 carries and a touchdown in his team’s 44-14 win over Creek Bridge.

Dominic Gullo, Waccamaw: The Warriors wide receiver and defensive back caught a pass for a touchdown, and brought a kick 45 yards back for another in his team’s 30-29 loss to Aynor.

Deandre Huggins, Conway: Doing a little bit of everything, the Tigers running back caught two touchdown passes and ran for another in his team’s 54-21 win over Socastee.

Hunter Illing, Socastee: The junior quarterback completed 7 of 11 passes for 241 yards and a touchdown in the Braves’ 54-21 loss to Conway.

Christian Johnson, Georgetown: The Bulldogs linebacker had nine solo tackles and three assists in his team’s 27-20 overtime loss to Lake City.

Zach Jordan, Loris: The versatile Lions defensive back and linebacker had nine solo tackles and one assist in his team’s 37-0 loss to Dillon.

Jack King, Waccamaw: The Warriors linebacker had seven solo tackles and six assists in his team’s 30-29 loss to Aynor.

Hunter Lane, Waccamaw: The Warriors linebacker had eight solo tackles and three assists in the Warriors’ 30-29 loss to Aynor.

Ethan Martin, Aynor: The junior defensive end had 11 tackles for the Blue Jackets in their 30-29 win over 30-29 Waccamaw.

Anthony McAfee, Carolina Forest: The Panthers running back rushed for 196 yards on 21 carries and a touchdown in his team’s 41-38 loss to South Florence.

Malachi McClendon, Socastee: The Braves’ multipurpose man had three receptions for 93 yards and a touchdown in his team’s 54-21 loss to Conway.

Sean McGonigal, Myrtle Beach: The defensive lineman had two tackles and assisted on six more — two of which came in the St. James backfield — during the Seahawks’ 55-3 win over St. James.

Daniel Mitchell, Myrtle Beach: Part of a tenacious Seahawks pass rush, the junior defensive lineman had three tackles and assisted on five more — four of which came in the St. James backfield. He also recovered a fumble for a touchdown in Myrtle Beach’s 55-3 win over the Sharks.

Juwon Moody, Conway: The Tiger wide receiver caught four passes for 99 yards and two touchdowns in his team’s 54-21 win over Socastee.

Dashaun Myers, Socastee: The running back had 118 yards on 20 carries and a touchdown in the Braves’ 54-21 loss to Conway

Trey Myers, St. James: The defensive back had five tackles while assisting on another, and two pass breakups in the Sharks’ 55-3 loss to Myrtle Beach. He also had four catches for 38 yards at the wide receiver spot.

Precise Owens, Loris: The Lions linebacker had eight solo tackles while assisting on seven more in the team’s 37-0 loss to Dillon.

Alex Smith, Georgetown: The Bulldogs’ wide receiver had three catches for 69 yards in the team’s 27-20 overtime loss to Lake City.

Janaz Sumpter, Carvers Bay: The Bears quarterback had 111 rushing yards on 19 carries, and had 46 yards passing and four combined touchdowns in his team’s 34-24 win over Mullins.

Ladarious Taylor, Waccamaw: The linebacker had nine solo tackles and two assists in the Warriors’ 30-29 loss to Aynor.

Wyatt Upchurch, Green Sea Floyds: The Trojans running back had six carries for 80 yards and a touchdown in his team’s 44-14 win over Creek Bridge.

Will Vereen, Myrtle Beach: The Seahawks’ go-to receiver caught seven passes for 154 yards and a touchdown in their 55-3 win over St. James.

Cameron Williams, St. James: The Sharks linebacker had seven solo tackles and four assists in his team’s 55-3 loss to Myrtle Beach.
