Helmet stickers: Week 10 Grand Strand high school football’s top performers
TEAM OF THE WEEK
Conway: Nothing is more exciting — and nerve-racking — than overtime. After suffering a gut-wrenching loss in triple overtime to Sumter, the Tigers again found themselves needing a bit extra the following Friday night, this time against Carolina Forest. This time, Conway was on the positive side of heartbreak, earning a 51-48 victory over its bitter rivals. More importantly, the win thrusts the Tigers back into the Region VI-5A race and in position to earn a home date for the first round of the playoffs.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Peyton Derrick, Conway: A week after throwing for four touchdowns, the Appalachian State commit and North-South all-star did that and more the following Friday night, scoring five rushing touchdowns for the Tigers in their 51-48 win over Carolina Forest. For the season, Derrick has 22 total touchdowns, including a team-high seven on the ground.
