Beach Ball Classic roundup: Baltimore Poly advances in marquee first-round matchup
Brandon Murray had 23 points and Marquette signee Justin Lewis had 15 points and 12 rebounds to lead Baltimore Poly (Md.) past Harvard Westlake (Calif.) in the first round of the Beach Ball Classic on Friday at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.
Holden McRae led Harvard Westlake with 10.
St. Thomas 53, Buchtel 29: Maddox Kopp had 21 points and Jonathan Massie added 11 to lead St. Thomas.
Vernon led Buchtel with 11 points.
Izard County 77, Socastee 41: Justus Cooper had 26 points and 15 rebounds and Coby Everett added 20 points to lead Izard County in a rout.
Preston Smith led Socastee with 14 points.
St . Johns (DC) 65, Morgan Park (IL) 60: Ishmael Leggett had 23 to lead St. John’s to the win.
Millennium (AZ) 65, University (WV) 63: One of the top juniors in the nation, DaRon Holmes had 25 points and 10 rebounds as Millennium won a close one to advance.
Bowling Green signee Kaden Metheny had 31 points for University.
Long Island Lutheran (NY) 77, Myrtle Beach (SC) 44: Ohio State recruit Ted Key had 28 points and 15 rebounds and Illinois signee Andre Curbelo had 16 points as Long Island Lutheran advanced.
Ayden Hickman led Myrtle Beach with nine points.
