Beach Ball Classic consolation roundup
Camron Justice went off Tuesday.
The Vanderbilt signee poured in a game-high 32 points to lead Knott County (Ky.) to a win over Shadow Mountain (Ariz.) 69-56 in a consolation game of the Beach Ball Classic at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.
While Justice had a good game, two of his teammates had double-doubles. IUPUI commit Evan Hall had 13 points and 10 rebounds and Chance Cornett had 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Patriots (10-1).
There were six lead changes and eight ties in the game and the Matadors led 28-27 at halftime. Shadow Mountain senior Craig Randall hit a 3-pointer to bring Shadow Mountain within two points with a little under nine minutes left to play, but after that Knott County went on an 18-4 run in the next five minutes as the Patriots cruised to the win.
Randall scored a team-high 20 points for the Matadors (9-4), JJ Rhymes contributed 15 points and four rebounds and Issiah Jones had seven points to go along with a game-high 16 rebounds.
Knott County will take on Spring Valley in the fifth-place game on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.

St. Francis (Ga.) 79, Scott County (Ky.) 51The Knights (12-3) started the game on a 19-5 run and never looked back. The Knights outscored the Cardinals 38-20 inside the paint and outrebounded them 43-25.
Scott County had four players score in double figures, led by Clarien Washington with 12 points. Hines Jones scored 11 and Isaiah Johnson and Michael Moreno scored 10 apiece for the Cardinals (5-5).
St. Francis also hit nine 3-pointers in the game. The Knights will take on Northland (Ohio) in the consolation championship game on Wednesday 1:45 p.m.

Spring Valley 75, St. Edward (Ohio) 70
The teams were very even-matched and it reflected in the numbers. Spring Valley outrebounded St. Edward just 26-25 and both teams had 32 points inside the paint.
Kipper Nichols led the Eagles, who shot 51 percent from the field, with 21 points, Derek Funberburk scored 13, Michael Ryan had 12 and Andrew Dowell scored 11.

• East Carteret (N.C.) 84, Myrtle Beach 72 | The Mariners had five players finish with double figures in scoring and cruised to a win over the Seahawks in a consolation game.
Jacque Brown paced East Carteret with a game-high 22 points to go along with six assists, Sam Johnson scored 16 points, Trevor Willis had 15 points on five 3-pointers, and Ty Simmons and Malik Collins added 11 points apiece.
East Carteret (8-2) went on a 17-6 run to start the game and established a 15-point lead going into halftime. The Mariners never trailed in the second half and also landed 11 3-pointers in the game.
Despite losing by 12, Myrtle Beach still managed to outrebound East Carteret 42-27 and the Seahawks outscored the Mariners 48-24 inside the paint.
Jaquan Chestnut had a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds, Bryce Schneider scored a team-high 21 points and grabbed nine boards and Will Gray had 13 points and six assists for the Seahawks (3-8).

• Northland (Ohio) 79, Mullins 63 | Despite a game-high 33 points from sophomore Jalek Felton, the Auctioneers fell to the Vikings, who will play in the consolation championship on Tuesday.
Felton was the only Mullins player to score in double figures. Towns was the only player on Northland to score in double figures as well.
Felton is now in third place on the Beach Ball Classic three-game scoring list behind Kobe Bryant (117). Mullins (5-7) finished 1-2 in the tournament.
