Following stellar careers at their respective schools, several Grand Strand area softball standouts were granted the opportunity to showcase their skills one last time.

Six local talents were named to the North-South All-Star Softball Games earlier this week. The games will take place June 14-16 at USC Aiken.

After making a second consecutive trip to the Lower State AA softball tournament, Aynor was rewarded by having two players named to the team in Morgan Elliott and Jessie Johnson. The pair were key cogs in leading the Blue Jackets to the 2015 Class AA state championship, in addition to a 16-4 record this past season.

Aynor was the lone area program with two players selected to the North-South All-Star Games.

Hitting .350 her senior season at Georgetown with 16 RBIs and 13 extra-base hits, Taylor Graham earn all-star honors. She won’t be the only Region VII-AAA representative at USC Aiken, though, joined by Myrtle Beach’s Morgan Compton, Rayni Newman of North Myrtle Beach and St. James’ Kelsi Bachmann.

A pair of local coaches will also be at USC Aiken for the festivities, as St. James’ Adam Jones will coach the AAA-AA South squad while Meagen Johnson of Carolina Forest will things up for the AAAA-A South team.
