Updated area high school playoff schedule (May 7, 2016)
The area’s baseball and boys soccer teams fortunate enough to be at home made good on their own turf.
Carolina Forest and Aynor baseball held on to their home-field advantage in the winner’s brackets of their respective Lower State tournaments with victories while the Socastee and Myrtle Beach boys soccer squads advanced to the Class AAAA and AAA Lower State finals with wins of their own.
They join a select group of other local teams still alive for state titles that had already secured spots in Monday’s action.
