Updated high school playoffs schedule (May 6, 2016)
The Lower State baseball and softball tournaments are upon us.
Beginning Saturday, five area teams will begin the second tier of the postseason in the four-team, double-elimination fields that will determine who plays for the state championships. Carolina Forest baseball, Aynor baseball and softball and Carvers Bay softball will play Saturday, with St. James baseball opening the Class AAA Lower State tournament Monday.
Additionally, four area boys soccer teams will take to the pitch on Saturday in the third round of the playoffs, fighting for a spot in the Lower State finals.
