Boys golf
North Myrtle Beach High won the 21-team Battle of the Dam tournament held at Timberlake Country Club in Chapin and Golden Hills Golf & Country Club in Lexington on Sunday and Monday.
The Chiefs shot rounds of 313 and 316 for a 61-over 629 total to defeat runner-up Dutch Fork by six strokes. NMB’s Juke Dupuis tied for fourth at 12-over 154, Matthew Griego tied for 10th at 157, David Lamb tied for 14th at 159, McClure Thompson tied for 22nd at 162 and Zack Kirtz shot an 11-over 82 in the second round.
Zach McLain of Gilbert won the individual title by five strokes with a 2-over 144. The event was co-hosted by River Bluff and Chapin high schools.
▪ Patrick Golden, Will Canipe and Drew Mullen each shot 2-under 33s to share medalist honors and lead Waccamaw to a win in a three-team meet at Caledonia.
