Third annual Soccer at the Beach boys tournament on tap
Myrtle Beach’s third annual Soccer at the Beach boys tournament is set to begin Tuesday, with two other Grand Strand programs and five outside schools joining the mix this year.
The event will run Tuesday through Thursday, and it will take place at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium and the adjoining Ashley Booth Field. Teams participating this year are Myrtle Beach, Socastee, Aynor, Hanahan, Hartsville, Seneca, T.L. Hanna and Gilbert.
Socastee-Aynor and Seneca-Hanahan will open pool play at 5 p.m. Tuesday. Group matches will continue throughout a true round robin that day and Wednesday. Each group winner will face the other at 9 a.m. Thursday, with the runners-up doing the same.
Tickets are $6 for a single game or $15 for a full tournament pass. Concessions will be available throughout.

8:30 p.m.: Hartsville vs. Myrtle Beach (Doug Shaw)

Wednesday
10 a.m.: Seneca vs. Myrtle Beach (Doug Shaw)
10 a.m.: Hanahan vs. Hartsville (Ashley Booth)
12 p.m.: Socastee vs. Gilbert (Doug Shaw)
12 p.m.: TL Hanna vs. Aynor (Ashley Booth)
4 p.m.: Myrtle Beach vs. Hanahan (Doug Shaw)
4 p.m.: Hartsville vs. Seneca (Ashley Booth)
6 p.m.: Socastee vs. TL Hanna (Doug Shaw)
6 p.m.: Gilbert vs. Aynor (Ashley Booth)
Thursday
9 a.m.: Third-place game (Ashley Booth)
9 a.m.: Championship (Doug Shaw)
