Myrtle Beach boys move up two spots to No. 2 in soccer rankings
STATE SOCCER RANKINGS
Six area teams are ranked in the most recent South Carolina High School Soccer Coaches Association state polls, released over the weekend.
The most notable of the locals is the Myrtle Beach boys team, which moved up two spots to No. 2 in Class AAA after adding a 5-0 win over Region VII-AAA foe St. James last Tuesday. The Seahawks entered spring break 8-1 overall, with their only loss coming against Class AAAA No. 5 Nation Ford.
Two other Grand Strand boys programs were ranked this week. Socastee comes in at No. 13 in Class AAAA, while Waccamaw sits at No. 9 in Class AAA.
All three area girls programs that appeared in this week’s rankings come from Region VII-AAA. North Myrtle Beach, Myrtle Beach and St. James were eighth, ninth and 10th, respectively.
