Baseball

▪ Summerville 4, Carolina Forest 1 | At Georgetown, Brock Tobin drove in two and Wilson Beattie drove in one to lead the Green Wave to a win over the Panthers in the International Paper Classic tournament.

Tobin was 1-for-3 and Beattie went 2-for-3, while Bo Gobin picked up the win on the mound as Summerville improved to 2-0.

Jakob Frishmuth received the loss for Carolina Forest (1-1), and Ryan Gold collected the team’s only hit while also drawing two walks.

Girls soccer

▪ (At) North Myrtle Beach 2, Socastee 1 (OT) | Junior Ingryd Garcia scored in the final minutes to tie the game, and sophomore Hadley Hudson scored two minutes into overtime to give the Chiefs a victory over the Braves.

North Myrtle Beach junior goalkeeper Montana Fields tallied seven saves in the win.

▪ (At) St. James 3, Carolina Forest 2 | Christina Niederegger and Amber Rutledge each scored for the Panthers as they fell to the Sharks.

Softball

▪ (At) St. James 15, Waccamaw 0 (5) | Shelby Spaziani struck out four and scattered three hits across five scoreless frames, and drove in three runs at the plate to help the Sharks to a five-inning victory over the Warriors.

Alysa Ayala also drove in three runs and scored twice as she went 2-for-3, and Dominique Gross was 4-for-4 with four runs and one RBI for St. James. Meanwhile, Kelsi Bachmann, Kelsey Gollie and Kenly Daves had two hits apiece for the Sharks.
