▪ (At) Carolina Forest 15, Socastee 6 | Joe Venazio had five goals to lead the Panthers to a win over the Braves in both teams’ season opener.

“Venazio played out of his mind; he played really well,” Socastee coach Matt Fox said. “They moved the ball really well on us. We won a lot of the middle of field – faceoffs, ground balls – but when it came down to it, their offense was better than our offense. It was a good, hard-fought game.”

▪ Goals: Socastee: Connor Moxley 3, Alec Dowd 1, Stephen Sperbeck 1, Ross Mashburn 1. Carolina Forest: Joe Venazio 5, Curtiss Pellegrino 2, Kaidon Hunt 3, Matt Sampollo 2, Sebastian Musumeci 3.

▪ Assists: Socastee: Moxley 2. Carolina Forest: Pellegrino 2, Sampollo 1, Josh Reffey 1.

▪ Goalies: Socastee: Nick Robles (7 saves). Carolina Forest: Steven Elias (3 saves).

▪ Records: Socastee 0-1, Carolina Forest 1-0.
