▪ (At) Green Sea Floyds 63, Creek Bridge 37 | Green Sea Floyds has been getting steady production from Tamara Jackson and Quadasia Gillard.

The duo stepped up again Tuesday.

Jackson poured in a game-high 35 points and Quadasia Gillard had a double-double of 18 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Trojans to a victory over Creek Bridge to improve to 2-1 in Region VIII-A.

“[Jackson] works hard every day, making sure her form looks good. She’s only a sophomore, so she’s still growing but she puts the time in at practice, just working on ball handling and always tries to get others open for shots as well,” Green Sea Floyds coach Tracy Kienast said. “She’s the focal point and ends up with a lot of shots, but that’s really not where her focus is at. She does such a good job at looking to others that are open, and has really led us. Quadasia has really stepped up; another double-double tonight and she’s one of the top in the state in rebounding.”

The Trojans got out to a quick 17-3 lead in the first quarter, and entered halftime with a 21-point advantage before cruising to the win.

“We were a little up and down for my liking, but we got out to a lead and did a good job keeping it there,” Kienast said. “[Creek Bridge] picked it up in the second half, but we got back on the winning track and it’s nice to be 2-1 in the region, heading to Latta on Friday.”
