Thursday’s high school roundup (Oct. 1)
The Dillon football team dominated the Blue Jackets from the get-go Thursday night.
The Wildcats (6-0, 1-0 Region VIII-AA) scored on the first play of their first possession and never looked back en route to a 42-0 blowout win over rival Aynor. The game – which was pushed back from Friday to Thursday due to the threat of inclement weather – was called at halftime.
Dillon quarterback Austin Moody scored the first two touchdowns of the game to put the Wildcats up 14-0 early in the first quarter. Then, Zareon Hayes scored on a rush from the wildcat formation and Daeshawn Davis ran for a score as Dillon took a 28-0 lead in the first frame.
The Blue Jackets (3-3, 0-1) will look to rebound next Friday as they host Marion.
