High school roundup: Knaffle leads St. James girls golf over Socastee, Conway
Led by freshman Smith Knaffle, St. James cruised to its first win of the season at par-35 Blackmoor, carding a 161 to best Socastee (202) and Conway (206).
“We’ve been struggling in tournaments, so it’s nice to see now every girl shoot in the 40s,” said St. James coach Denise Knoll.
Knaffle earned medalist honors with a 36, followed by Jordan White’s 40.
The Sharks are next in action against Socastee at Prestwick Country Club.

Socastee 3, (at) St. James 0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-22) | Led by Mary Guest’s 12 kills and 10 digs, the Braves swept the Sharks on the road. Katelynn Hine added 23 assists, and Dale Rogers had 7 kills and 3 aces.

Myrtle Beach Christian Academy 3, King’s Academy (25-9, 25-17, 25-11) | Natalia Antonucci led the way with 8 kills as the Saints won on the road.
