Myrtle Beach girls, Waccamaw boys earn swim meet titles in Georgetown
The Myrtle Beach girls and the Waccamaw boys brought home the area’s first swim meet victories in the Warrior Invitational on Saturday at the Georgetown YMCA.
The Seahawks’ girls team finished with 104 points to outpace second-place St. James (94) and Carolina Forest (94). The Warriors’ boys squad finished with 118 points for a runaway victory; North Myrtle Beach was second with 76.5 points.
Socastee’s Jenn Paul (200-yard freestyle and 100 -yard backstroke) was the lone double winner among the girls, while the Braves’ Eddie Bateson (100-yard freestyle; 200-yard individual medley) and Waccamaw’s Patrick Sullivan (100-yard backstroke; 100-yard butterfly) each won two individual events.

Carolina Forest – Taylor Steele, Anna Fortenberry, Jensen Helgerson and Elizabeth Gatley – won the 400-yard freestyle relay. Myrtle Beach – McGonigal, Danielle Flaherty, Drew and Catherine Miller –won the 200-yard freestyle and 200-yard medley (McGonigal, Flaherty, Drew, Miller) relays.

Waccamaw: John Crosby (50-yard freestyle); Michael Paglio (500-yard freestyle); Patrick Sullivan (100-yard backstroke; 100-yard butterfly)
Socastee: Eddie Bateson (100-yard freestyle; 200-yard individual medley)
North Myrtle Beach: Josh Devine (200-yard freestyle)
Georgetown: Hurley Cribb (100-yard breaststroke)
North Myrtle Beach – Connor Britt-Tripp, Devine, River Newman, Tyzon Kinner – won the 400-yard freestyle relay, Waccamaw – Crosby, Sean King, Jonah Crosby and Sullivan – won the 200-yard freestyle relay, and Socastee – Chad Bateson, Eddie Bateson, Taylor Koppel, Jakob Hasbrouk – won the 200-yard medley relay.
