Beach Ball Classic roundup: How Dorman fared in a nail-biter against Whitney Young
Butler signee Myles Tate had 18 points, Clemson signee P.J. Hall had 17 and Justin Amadi contributed 14 points and 11 rebounds to lead Dorman to a 59-56 victory over Whitney Young (Ill.) on Saturday at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center to advance to the semifinals of the Beach Ball Classic.
Duke signee D.J. Steward had 32 and Tyler Beard added 21 in the loss.
Harvard Westlake 59, Morgan Park 53: Princeton recruit Mason Hooks had 21 points and 14 rebounds to lead Harvard Westlake to a in the consolation bracket.
Brandon Weston had 16 points and Illinois signee Adam Miller added 14 for Morgan Park.
Myrtle Beach 79, University 73: Ayden Hickman had 26 points and Charleston Southern recruit Emorie Knox added 19 as the Seahawks won a consolation bracket game.
Bowling Green signee Kaden Metheny had 26 points and K.J. McClurg added 21 for University.
St. Francis 81, Coronado 77: Xavier signee Dwon Odom had 30 points and 10 assists to lead St. Francis to the semifinals.
On of the nation’s top shooting guard recruits, Jaden Hardy, had 41 in the loss.
St . Johns 62, Baltimore Poly 56: Rhode Island recruit Ishmael Leggett had 22 points and Amani Hansberry had 19 points and 11 rebounds to lead St. John’s to the semifinals.
Brandon Murray led Baltimore Poly with 19 points.
Long Island Lutheran 66, Millennium 41: Illinois recruit Andre Curbelo had 25 points and 19 rebounds and Ohio State recruit Zed Key added 18 points as Long Island Lutheran advanced to the semifinals.
Jalen Early paced Millennium with 15.
