Updated area high school playoff schedule

The playoff schedule was not kind to many area teams across several sports Wednesday night.

At the same time, others used the next round of the postseason to shine.

Aynor’s baseball and softball teams will be the lone area double-up in the Lower State tournaments, as each team clinched district championships at home. Carolina Forest and Waccamaw baseball did the same, while Class AAA programs Myrtle Beach baseball and North Myrtle Beach and Georgetown softball will be in their respective district finals on Friday.

No. 3 seed North Myrtle Beach girls soccer advanced to the third round of the state playoffs, continuing its improbable run. The Myrtle Beach and Waccamaw girls also upheld loft seeds to advance to the third round.

On Thursday, six area boys soccer teams will compete for the right to advance to the third round of their brackets. Three area tennis teams will be looking to move on to the third round, while Waccamaw boys tennis starts its playoffs at home against Hannah-Pamplico.
