Updated area high school playoff schedule

The day is here for three area baseball programs and one local softball team.

While more than just four have made it to their respective district finals, Carolina Forest, Waccamaw and Aynor baseball and Aynor softball have a clear advantage when it comes to making it to the Lower State brackets. Those four are at home, having won their first two games in the district playoffs, meaning, they’ll have two chances to win Wednesday in order to reach the next stage.

Five other baseball and softball teams are also in their district finals, although they’ll have the disadvantage of needing to sweep a double-header to advance.

Additionally, the three remaining girls soccer teams will also be in action. Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach - which not only pulled an upset but saw one happen in its second-round pairing - and Waccamaw will all be at home for a chance to move to the third round.
