Monday’s area sports briefs
▪ St. James’ Alexus Alston and Kelsey Glover won three events each to help the Sharks’ girls track and field team finish third in the Region VII-AAA meet Monday at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.
Alston won the 100 meters, 100-meter hurdles and 400 meters and Glover took first in the 800, 1,600 and 3,200.
On the boys side, St. James’ Trey Myers won the 110 hurdles and 400 hurdles and was part of the Sharks’ first-place 1,600-meter relay team.
Wilson took the boys team title and North Myrtle Beach placed first in the girls standings.
