Area’s top senior standouts named North-South all-stars

Several of the area’s top seniors in girls golf and tennis will end their prep careers as North-South all-stars.

Three of the area’s top girls golfers will tee it it up in the North-South girls golf tournament. It will be played Nov. 10 and 11 at Stoney Point Golf Club in Greenwood.

Among those taking part are Aynor’s Mary Kate Richardson, Carolina Forest standout Sami Spencer, as well as Coker College commit and St. James senior Jordan White.

With the North-South girls tennis matches taking place at the Myrtle Beach Tennis Center on Nov. 18, guess it is only right to have a heavy dose of local flavor.

Four of the six South team players selected for this year’s event hail from Horry County. Among them are Green Sea Floyds’ Tamara Jackson, Bailey Deskins and Paxton Gentry of Myrtle Beach, as well as Anna Brice Cox from Socastee.

Myrtle Beach girls tennis coach Jeri Himmelsbach will also serve as one of the South team coaches.
