High school roundup (Dec. 15, 2016)
Boys basketball
▪ Myrtle Beach 43, (at) Georgetown 39 | The Seahawks committed just one team foul, a first for Myrtle Beach coach Craig Martin, as they got past the Bulldogs for a tough road win.
"It’s a tough place to play,” Martin said. “Georgetown played well and did a good job. Defensively they gave us problems and I thought Georgetown came ready to play and gave us a real good game."
Robert Swanson had 11 points and Emory Knox chipped in eight to pace the Seahawks. As for committing just one foul, though?
"Never seen that happen before, ever. In any game,” Martin said. “But we are starting to play a lot smarter defensively and putting ourselves in better positions on defense. And sometimes you gotta get real lucky."
Myrtle Beach will take on Durham Academy on Tuesday as part of the Panther Classic at Carolina Forest High School.
