Carolina Forest dominates All-Region VI-5A volleyball team
The all-Region VI-5A volleyball team has more than a few hints of burgundy, black and silver.
Carolina Forest coach Brittany Drew was named the league’s coach of the year, while Kenzlie Andresen earned player of the year honors on the team, a list that was released earlier this week.
The Panthers, who finished undefeated in Region VI-5A play, also landed Andresen, Meghan DeVaux and Alexis Tomlin on the all-region team.
Conway placed two on the list, as Caroline Todd and Atley Livingston wound up on the squad. Elizabeth Harris of Socastee was the lone Brave to make the all-region team.

Due to the Carvers Bay football team hosting Barnwell in a Class 2A football semifinal game on Friday, the Bears have moved boys and girls basketball games with St. John’s to Saturday, Dec. 17. The doubleheader will tip off at 4:30 p.m. … Myrtle Beach linebacker Chase Brill committed to North Greenville on Sunday. The senior had 70 total tackles for the Seahawks this past season. … North Myrtle Beach football standout Tyler Gore made his second visit to Clemson this past weekend. Conway offensive lineman Raiqwon O’Neal was also on the move the final weekend of November, paying a visit to Wake Forest for its tilt with Boston College. … Myrtle Beach girls soccer standout Jakie Torres received her first offer from USC-Lancaster on Monday. … Aynor is in need of a gridiron opponent on Sept. 15 or 22 for the 2017 football season. The Blue Jackets played West Columbus (N.C.) this past season, but the game was on a one-year contract.
