North Myrtle Beach girls, Myrtle Beach boys claim region cross country titles
North Myrtle Beach girls dominated to win the Region VII-AAAA cross country championship, while the Myrtle Beach boys took first in the meet at North Myrtle Beach High School on Thursday.
Wilson Jenerette lead six Chiefs runners in the top seven as each earned All-Region honors as well. Jenerette took first with a time of 20:09, with Bree Spickler finishing second (21:06) nearly a minute after Jenerette. Macy Werner (22:19) finished third, Emily Worsham (22:19) was fourth, Havana Charles (22:23) fifth and Taylor Monahan (22:35) came in sixth.
On the boys’ side, Myrtle Beach’s Tyler Flannelly placed first (16:57) and the Seahawks had three in the top seven to take first place as a team, edging St. James by just four points.
Behind Flannelly was Miguel Garcia (18:00) in fifth and Curt Caudle (18:31) in sixth.
