Weekly golf tip with Brad Redding (Aug. 30, 2016)
Ball and string
I really like training aids where you use your club and you can hit the ball with it. The ball and string is a great way to get your body and arms in sync. You might remember seeing Martin Kaymer using this training aid en route to winning the 2014 U.S. Open. This training aid will help add width to your backswing. The ball attached to a lanyard will hang just above your wrists. On the backswing keep the ball in between your arms. When you reach full extension your arms will separate and the ball will fall. Start off first by making rehearsals, turning your back, chest and shoulders and keeping your arms straight in the takeaway. Hit some half shots building up to the full swing.
