Weekly golf tip with Brad Redding (Aug. 2, 2016)
Path board
You can work on your putting path with a wooden board. I lay a wooden board that is about a foot long on the ground parallel to my target line. You can use a chalk line to verify this. Now place the toe of the putter on the board. Once again, putter paths work on a slight arc. The putter would move inside the board and the face would slightly open in the backswing, move back to the board and the face squares to the board at impact, and then move slightly inside and the face closes on the follow-through. Putting is not croquet. It does not move straight back and through. You would have to straddle the line to do that and that old Sam Snead style is not allowed by USGA rules.
