Chalk your path

A chalk line on the green gives you a better idea of your putting path. Since the ball is to the side of you (like every shot in golf) the putter should move on a slight arc. That means the putter would move slightly inside the chalk line and the putter face would open and then it should move slightly inside on the follow through and the putter face would close. Many golfers tend to move the putter straight back and then push the putter to the right. By working on your stroke with a chalk line you will improve your putting path.

If you have an issue with your golf game, Brad Redding is fielding reader questions at brad@bradreddinggolf.com and will provide answers directly and in future tips.
