Weekly golf tip with Brad Redding (June 7, 2016)

Don’t say it

When a golfer hits the dreaded hosel rocket (AKA a shank) it might be the worst feeling shot in golf, not to mention the worst ball flight ever. The problem here is the club is getting outside the target line in the downswing. This would cause the heel or even the hosel of the club to hit the ball. With the Plane Pillow I put the flat side just outside of the ball. I will simply ask the student to make some swings and miss the pillow to the inside. Using “self-discovery” they will make a change in the swing to get the club to move on a path that will allow them to find the middle of the clubface.
