Connection

Some golfers will come to me and say, “I feel like I am all arms. How can I get my body more involved in my swing?” Let’s back up once again and look at the grip. If you fold your thumb over first in your left hand it will tend to move your hands more out in front of the clubhead. When you do this your left arm moves away from your chest.

Your arms need to be in front of your chest. If you hold the club perpendicular to the ground in front of you and then take your left hand grip with the heel pad folding over first, your left wrist will cup in and your left arm will move to the right and in front of your body. This connects your left arm to your chest. This in turn will help the chest turn in conjunction with the arms.
