Flat left wrist

Again, a lot of “tips” in golf have been overdone. You don’t want a flat left wrist at address. If you have one it will cause your wrists to bend instead of hinge and the club will move inside and the face will be shut or closed. Not a good beginning. Since the heel pad will be on top of the club the left wrist will be “cupped.” Now, I know what you might be saying, “Brad, you don’t want your wrists cupped? That causes the face to be open at the top of your swing.” Well, if you have the left wrist cupped at address it allows your wrist to hinge and that left wrist will be flat and in line with your forearm at the top of your backswing. A lot of good things can happen from there.
