Weekly golf tip with Brad Redding (Dec. 8)
Hinge it
In the backswing the club needs to swing up and in. The up part comes from a hinging of your wrists. What allows you to do this and makes it easier to do is have the wrist semi-hinged at address. This would have the club on the correct angle at address.
Your arms and club shaft need to form an angle. To feel this and get it correct stand up straight and hold the club straight up where it becomes 90 degrees to the ground. Then bring it down where it is 45 degrees from the ground. Keep it there and bend from your hips until the club head touches the ground. This is how you should be at address.
