Weekly golf tip with Brad Redding (Sept. 27)

Impact board

I like using an impact board to give me information (as well as the student) on what is going on at impact. I will place a piece of face tape and a piece of sole tape on the club. Based on the results, I can explain to them what is happening in their swing to cause improper impacts on the face and sole. So as long as their clubs fit them I will have them do the opposite. If you have a lot of toe hits on the face and sole, then I will have them try to hit the heel of the sole and face. Using a little “self-discovery” is helpful for students as they will own the information and be able to repeat it on the golf course.

If you have an issue with your golf game, Brad Redding is fielding reader questions at brad@bradreddinggolf.com and will provide answers directly and in future tips.
