Seton Hall’s Go leads Southern Amateur by two strokes
Seton Hall golfer Lloyd Jefferson Go of the Philippines shot a third-round 4-under 68 to take a two-stroke lead going into the final round of the 110th Southern Amateur Championship at The Dunes Golf and Beach Club.
Go, the reigning Big East Player of the Year as a rising senior at Seton Hall, is at 68-71-68–207, two strokes ahead of Oklahoma State golfer Zachary Bauchou (68) of Forest, Va.
Defending champion Taylor Funk of Ponte Vedra, Fla., a rising junior at Texas and the son of nine-time PGA Tour winner Fred Funk, was among a group of three (also Brett Coletta of Australia and Virginia’s Jimmy Stanger of Tampa, Fla.) who are three strokes behind Go.
The field was cut to the low 66 players following the completion of the second round, and spectators are welcomed for the final day of competition Sunday.
