Weekly golf tip with Brad Redding (Oct. 6)
Slicer solutions: Baseball
You may have heard that good baseball is bad for your game. Well then why are so many good baseball players also good golfers. Former Braves pitcher John Smoltz once carried a plus-5 handicap and his former teammates Greg Maddux and Tom Glavine carry single-digit handicaps. The golf and baseball swings are similar, just on different planes, and are good images for slicers.
Like I have said before, most slices have a very steep golf swing. Take your golf posture and lift the club about knee high off the ground. Make a full speed swing and swing on the angle of the club shaft at address. You will feel how the clubhead will want to turn over through impact.
