Weekly golf tip with Brad Redding (Sept. 15)
Slicer solutions: Ahead of its time
Some tips are good for some golfers and bad for others. One of those tips is that your hands should be in front of your clubhead at impact. Well, that is not a good tip for slicers because most likely your hands are too far ahead of the clubface in the downswing, which makes it impossible to close the face. Set up to a teed-up golf ball with the toe facing the ball. Your hands would be behind your right thigh. Your right hand and forearm would be over your left hand and forearm. As a result, your forearms would be touching and the clubhead would be ahead of your hands. Make some swings and try to return to the position. If the golf ball moves left you are on the right track.
