Weekly golf tip with Brad Redding (Sept. 1)
Slicer solutions: Swinging right
Some golfers believe that if the ball goes off to the right they need to swing more left. Nothing could be further from the truth. The more you swing left, the club will be coming steeper into the ball and the club face tends to open. A great drill is to get up to a teed-up golf ball with the club head 2 feet behind the ball and about a foot inside the ball. Slowly move the club toward the ball and you will see that the club is moving more to the right of the target line but the clubface is square or even closed to the target line. Swinging to the right is the way to draw the golf ball.
