MB’s Washington helps Carolinas team prevail

The 24-golfer Carolinas team posted a wire-to-wire 12-point victory (78-66) over their Virginias counterparts to win the 59th Virginias-Carolinas Women’s Team Matches at Bay Creek Resort’s Nicklaus Course.

Anne Washington, 58, of Myrtle Beach was a team captain and won 5 1/2 of a possible nine points, halving a singles match, winning an alternate shot match with Lea Anne Brown of Mount Pleasant and losing a four-ball match with partner Terrie Allemang of Hilton Head Island.
