Charlie Rymer’s new golf show from Myrtle Beach features Jack Nicklaus in first episode

The Charlie Rymer Golf Show – a new online program based in and featuring the Myrtle Beach market – debuted with interviews of 18-time major champion Jack Nicklaus and Peter Jacobsen, a seven-time winner on the PGA Tour and one of the game’s most colorful personalities.

The Charlie Rymer Golf Show is sponsored by PlayGolfMyrtleBeach.com and two new episodes per month will be available for viewing on PlayGolfMyrtleBeach.com, Youtube, Facebook and Instagram.

Rymer, a Fort Mill native, ended an 11-year career as one of Golf Channel’s better-known personalities late in 2018 and moved to the Grand Strand, where he has a multi-year agreement to represent and do some multi-media work for Golf Tourism Solutions, which produces the show.

The interview with Nicklaus provided a walk down memory lane as golf’s greatest major champion relived his unforgettable triumph at the 1986 Masters.

Jacobsen shared stories ranging from the set of “Tin Cup” to the British Open in a light-hearted 30-minute episode.

Among the guests appearing in the coming weeks are World Golf Hall of Famer Nancy Lopez, acclaimed course architect Rees Jones, who has several layouts on the Grand Strand, and country music star and former collegiate golfer Colt Ford. Lopez and Ford have each appeared in the Hootie & the Blowfish Monday After the Masters Celebrity Pro-Am at Barefoot Resort’s Dye Club.

“The Charlie Rymer Golf Show allows fans to see some of golf’s biggest stars from a different perspective,” Golden said. “During his time on the PGA Tour, Charlie developed relationships at every level of the game, and what makes the show special is that it’s more like listening to old friends talk.”
