Little River’s Lundy advances to Second Stage of Web.com Tour Q-School

Patrick Lundy of Little River advanced to the Second Stage of the Web.com Tour Qualifying Tournament for the second consecutive year by tying for sixth in the first stage Thursday at Grasslands Golf & Country Club in Lakeland, Fla.

Lundy shot rounds of 72, 67, 68 and 68 for a 13-under 275 to advance by six shots and finish five shots behind the medalists. The top 25 scores and ties advanced. The second stage runs from Nov. 1-11.

Charlie Winegardner and Tyler Light failed to advance from the first stage this past week.

Winegardner, a 2013 CCU graduate from Lothian, Md., failed to advance by five strokes at ArborLinks in Nebraska City, Neb., by tying for 45th at even-par 288.

Light, a native of Massillon, Ohio, who lived in Little River for 18 months to further his golf career before moving to Lantana, Texas, in February, failed to advance by seven strokes with a 2-under 286 at Lantana Golf Club.

Andrew Dorn, a three-time All-Big South Conference selection who graduated from CCU in May 2015, is entered in the first stage this week at Highland Oaks in Dothan, Ala. Zack Byrd of Murrells Inlet has already advanced to the second stage.
