The Coastal Carolina football team appeared 16th in the STATS FCS Preseason Top 25 on Monday, extending its run of appearing in the poll.

Reigning national champion North Dakota State is the preseason favorite, receiving 152 of a possible 158 first-place votes.

Sam Houston State appeared second, while the Chants’ Week 3 opponent, Jacksonville State, debuted third.
