Coastal Carolina’s 5-0 loss to Longwood on Friday night took some of the momentum away from a squad that was riding high after a no-hitter earlier in the day at the Big South tournament.
Ashley Guillette didn’t allow a hit in leading the Chanticleers to an 8-0 victory over Liberty in the squad’s first game of the day. She walked three in posting the first no-hitter in the tournament since 2011.
Catcher Morgan Noad led the way on offense, breaking her own program record with her 23rd home run of the season.
However, the Chants ended the day one loss away from elimination as they sets to take on the Lancers once again Saturday.
