At Greenville, N.C., the Coastal Carolina men’s track and field team finished second and the women fourth in the Bill Carson Invitational.
Coastal Carolina’s Therius Styles won the 100 (10.47) Jerome Coaxum won the 400-meter hurdles (53.56) and Desmond Wallace won the 110-meter hurdles (13.83).
Kyla van Graan won the women’s 3,000 meters (9:57.75) and Aynslee van Graan added a victory in the 1,500 (4:34.63).
Other CCU men with top-10s were: Kahlim Denmark (100m, fourth, 10.53), Braylon Wilkerson (400m, second, 48.81), Deion Wellington (400m, third, 49.16), Tyler Riaz (1,500m, seventh, 4:08.44), Charles Bascom (800m, sixth, 1:56.20), Tre Stanely (400m hurdles, third, 53.92), Zach Hensel (3,000m steeplechase, third, 10:18.72), Brinson Corn (pole vault, fifth, 14-7 1/4), Marquez Moore (long jump, 22-11), Dandre Baker (long jump, eighth, 22-1 1/2) and Zach Bolton (shot put, sixth, 49-2 1/2).
Other women with top-10s were: Teka Simpson (100m, seventh, 11.94; 200m, seventh 25.08), Jackie Brengel (3,000m steeplechase, fourth, 11:58.15), Alesia Muklebust (3,000m steeplechase, 10th, 10:41.71), Lisha van Onselen (1,500m, fourth, 4:51.47), Aynslee van Graan (800m, second, 2:16.26), Imani Boatwright (800m, third, 2:17.56), Roezelle Meier (400m hurdles, third, 1:03.89), Anacia Hines (100m hurdles, seventh, 14.44), Emma Kroger (pole vault, second, 12-0 3/4), Kelsey Briggs (long jump, third, 18-7 3/4), Courtney Lawson (triple jump, fifth, 37-9 1/2) and Veneshia Holmes (triple jump, seventh, 36-10 1/2).
The women’s 400-meter relay team – Simpson, Karissa Lunn, Hines, Kelila Naules – placed second (46.31). The men’s squad – Denmark, Styles, Ryan McCain, Chiason Tenkiang – also placed second (40.86).
Women’s lacrosse
Coastal Carolina 16, (at) Gardner-Webb 6: Sara Nolan had a career-high eight goals and Haley Alexander, Charlotte O’Leary and Courtney Genovese each had two as the Chants rolled past the Runnin’ Bulldogs.
Softball
Coastal Carolina 8, (at) Winthrop 1: Kelsey Dominick and Annie Robinson each homered and Timi Tooley drove in three runs as the Chants routed the Eagles.
