Track & field

Coastal Carolina’s Aynslee van Graan finished eighth (2:13.33) in the 800 meters Saturday at the VerKlasse Meeting hosted by High Point.

Other Chants were top-10s were: Cari Pallini (discus, 10th, 139-5) and Samantha Layko (hammer throw, eighth, 166-8).

Men’s golf

The Coastal Carolina men’s golf team shot 5-over 290-291–581 to sit in 11th place after the first two rounds of the 3M Augusta Invitational.

The Chants were 23 strokes behind leader Augusta.

Coastal’s Ryan Carpenter was tied for 29th (70-74–144), Olle Widegren was tied for 39th (74-72–146), Alfredo Ruiz was tied for 43rd (75-72–147), Luis Ruiz was tied for 57th (77-73–150) and Thadd Obency II was tied for 64th (71-80–1511).

Women’s lacrosse

(At) Coastal Carolina 11, Liberty 10: Sara Nolan scored the lone goal in overtime to lift the Chants past the Flames.

Nolan finished with a hat trick and Charlotte O’Leary had four goals for Coastal.

Softball

Coastal Carolina 10-1, Radford 4-5: The Chants and Highlanders split a doubleheader.

Men’s tennis

Coastal Carolina 4, (at) Gardner-Webb 3: The Chants edged the Runnin’ Bulldogs.

Women’s tennis

(At) Coastal Carolina 7, Presbyterian 0: The Chants cruised to a victory.

Beach volleyball

(At) UNC-Wilmington 3-2, Coastal Carolina 2-5: The Chants and Seahawks split a pair of matches.
