Coastal Carolina’s quest for a championship in the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament continues with the Chanticleers’ toughest obstacle on the bracket yet and one of their toughest all season, for that matter.

The Chants (20-11) will host Grand Canyon (27-6) in the CIT quarterfinals Wednesday night at 7 at The HTC Center, the school confirmed Sunday night.

The Chants have advanced in the 26-team postseason event with a 65-57 win over Mercer last Tuesday and a 71-62 win over New Hampshire on Saturday for the first two official postseason victories in program history.

Grand Canyon, meanwhile, earned wins over South Carolina State (78-74) and Jackson State (64-54) and will be going on the road for the first time in the tournament.

The Antelopes are coached by former NBA All-Star Dan Majerle, who is in his third season.

Their roster includes another familiar name in senior forward Uros Ljeskovic, who played the last three seasons for Coastal Carolina before transferring last offseason. He has played in 22 games with 15 starts, averaging 2.3 points and 1.1 rebounds in 7.1 minutes per game, but he has played less than a minute during the CIT.

Grand Canyon is led by 6-foot-4 guard Joshua Braun, who averages 16.9 points and 5.2 rebounds per game while shooting 40.8 percent from 3-point range (73-of-179). Grandy Glaze, a 6-foot-6 forward, averages 13.9 points and 8.7 rebounds.
